<p>A method and apparatus for accessing context information is disclosed. The method may include providing a virtual data source registry corresponding to a local rendezvous point local to a device and a remote rendezvous point remote from the device, where the local rendezvous point can correspond to locally available context information and the remote rendez-vous point can correspond to remotely available context information. The method may also include receiving, at the virtual data source registry, join requests from multiple applications, where the join requests can request context information from a context source. The method may include receiving context information at the virtual data source registry from the context source, returning locally available context information from the local rendezvous point to the device application in response to receiving the local join request, and multicasting remotely available context information from the remote rendezvous point to the multiple applications.</p> |
