The invention relates to an apparatus which is capable of a. receiving e-mails according to the formats RFC 2045, RFC 2046, RFC 2047, RFC2048, RFC 2821, and RFC 2822; b. parsing the content and detecting an attached image; c. extracting the e-mail address of the sender and comparing said sender to the database entry, which also contains the postal address d. extracting said image file from the e-mail body e. printing the image on a plastic card f. returning the printed card to the sender by accessing the database entry. The object is to create a service which manufactures individual, unique cards; such a service uses a protocol, the communication of which from machine to machine always corresponds to a series of standards. Said solution should be decoupled from the front end so that each user can select a suitable program for interfacing with the functionality. |
