<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which allows the reduction of risk of damage due to control defects. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When the temperature of a heat roller 24 becomes equal to or higher than a prescribed temperature, an output voltage value from a thermistor 28 is increased and a voltage value between terminals 34a and 34b is inverted in a comparator 32 of a high temperature detection circuit 31a, and then, an output of the comparator 32 is changed (S12). In response to the change of the output of the comparator 32, the temperature of the heat roller 24 is determined to be higher than the prescribed temperature (S13). In this case, an on signal for a motor 29 is transmitted to drive the motor 29.
