An object of the invention is to reduce power consumption by dynamically changing the transfer mode from DDR to SDR without using a complicated configuration. To accomplish the object, the transfer mode change is reported by using a predetermined bit of a packet header. Consequently, the transfer mode can be dynamically changed from the DDR to the SDR of low power consumption without using a complicated configuration. When the SDR is used as the transfer mode, the power consumption is further reduced by changing a slew rate or stopping operation of a part of a circuit.
