<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus capable of efficiently molding a molded product formed with an opening, and a molding method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The molding apparatus 10 molds the molded product 11 having a cylindrical body 12 comprising a projecting portion 17. A retreat locus L1 in the internal space 13 of a sub-slide mold 20 describes a straight line from one opening 15 to a chip part 16. Main slide molds 21a, 21b retreat interlocked with the retreat of the sub-slide mold 20. The respective main slide molds 21a, 21b are displaced to the internal space 13 side and retreated from the projecting portion 17. The respective main slide molds 21a, 21b are then retreated from the opening which is the chip part 16 of the cylindrical body 12, together with the sub-slide mold 20.
