The vibration damper (1) has a damper flywheel (3) that is rotatable opposite to a main flywheel (2) against force of a spring arrangement (9). The spring arrangement is radially displaceable against force of a spring (15). The spring exhibits a nonlinear characteristic curve of the spring force for the displacement path. The spring arrangement comprises a sleeve (10) that is displaceable radially along a bar (13). The bar is fastened to the main flywheel. The damper flywheel comprises multiple sheet plates (3a-3c) that are stacked in an axial direction. An independent claim is also included for a drive train of a motor vehicle.
