<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which can be efficiently installed in an installation space having constraints, without deteriorating the quality of an irradiation image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A reflecting mirror 37 is disposed on an optical axis O of a lens optical system 21 for controlling outgoing light from an LED 12, and by reflection on a reflecting surface 37a of the reflecting mirror 37; an optical path of a beam outgoing from a projection lens 23 is changed. Accordingly, as in the case where it is difficult to ensure sufficient depth in the irradiating direction of illumination light, even when the installation space 42 has constraints, the lighting device 1 can be installed, without sacrificing the required distance, and the like, in the optical axis O direction, between optical members configuring the lens optical system 21.
