<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a separator for a fuel cell, capable of bringing a flexural strength after a test into 95% or more of initial value, without bringing deterioration of the mechanical characteristics, even if carrying out the environmental test of high temperature and high humidity. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the separator for the fuel cell compression-molds the separator 1 for the fuel cell, by filling a molding material mixed with a graphite particle and a polyphenylene sulfide resin into a molding die to be mold-clamped, and inspects and confirms the mechanical characteristic of the molded separator 1 for the fuel cell by the environmental test of high temperature and high humidity; a number-averaged molecular weight Mn of the polyphenylene sulfide resin lies within a ranged of 10,000-30,000; and the ratio of weight-averaged molecular weight Mw to the number-averaged molecular weight Mn of the polyphenylene sulfide resin, i.e. a molecular distribution value Mw/Mn, is 5.0 or less, in the method. The flexural strength of the separator 1 for the fuel cell can be brought to 95% or more of initial value, and the separator 1 for the fuel cell is prevented from cracking or damaging, even if it is operated under a fastening force, when assembling, for a long period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
