PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that employs a resin optical component while suppressing excessive performance directly linked to a steep rise in component cost, and nonetheless easily compensates temperature. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a laser beam source 11 which irradiates a face to be scanned with a beam; a rotating polygon mirror 14 which deflects and scans the irradiation beam emitted from the laser beam source 11 in a main scanning direction; a scanning optical system 16 having a resin lens 19 for focusing the beam deflected and scanned with the rotating polygon mirror 14 onto the face to be scanned 15; and a pair of flat plates 22, 23 disposed between the rotating polygon mirror 14 and the resin lens 19.
