METHOD FOR DETERMINING HEPATOTOXICITY OF PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS

PURPOSE: A method for determining hepatotoxicity of drug is provided to reduce time and cost without constructing data base. CONSTITUTION: A method for determining hepatotoxicity of drug comprises: a step of measuring metabolite relating to hepatotoxicity 24 to 48 hours after administering test drug to a mammal except for human; and a step of comparing the concentration of metabolite included in control group and determining hepatotoxicity. A metabolite relating to hepatotoxicity is allantoin, citrate, taurine, 2-oxoglutarate, acetate, lactate, succinate, phenylacetate, 1-methylnicotinamide, hippurate, benzoate, or phenylacetyl glycine. When the metabolite concentrate is reduced compared to urine of control group, urine is determined to have hepatotoxicity.
