<p>PURPOSE: An RF intervertebral disc surgical system is provided to easily form a cavity or void on the spine by operating an electrosurgical handpiece. CONSTITUTION: A linear or diagonal cannula(12,14) has a lumen. The lumen receives a long tubular body of the electrosurgical handpiece. A guide wire(20) has a sharp end for tissue penetration and is inserted into the lumen of the cannular. A taped dilator(28) slides on the guide wire. A trephine(32) slides on the guide wire. A depth control stop device is mounted on the cannular.</p> |
