Disclosed is the use of an isolated mixture of theaflavin, theaflavin-3-gallate, theaflavin-3Æ-gallate and theflavin 3,3Æ-digallate in the manufacture of a composition for treating or preventing hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, apoplexy, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, diabetes, von WillebrandÆs disease, leukopenia, cerebral infarction, fatty liver, or for reducing low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels.
