<p>The invention relates to a process for preparing (8E, 10Z)-8,10-tetradecadiene-1-al, identified as sex pheromone of the Cameraria ohridella species, a major pest of the horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum). According to the invention, the process consists in coupling the (2E, 4Z)-2,4-octadiene-1-ol acetate with the magnesium derivative of 1-silyloxy-6-bromhexane, in the presence of Li2CuCl4, at normal pressure and temperature of -10A C, followed by the oxidation of the obtained (8E, 10Z)-8,10-tetradecadiene-1-ol. Within this process, the (2E, 4Z)-2,4-octadiene-1-ol acetate is obtained from propargyl alcohol successively subjected to the hydroxy group protection reaction, coupling with acroleine, acetylation, coupling with the magnesium derivative of ethyl bromide, hydrogenation with lithium and aluminium hydride, acid hydrolysis and acetylation.</p> |
