<p>A reel unit 1 of the dual-bearing reel configured to support a spool 4, a spool shaft 5, a drag mechanism 6, and the drag adjusting lever 2. The reel unit 1 has a first cylindrical portion 11a with a first opening 19a and a first escape portion 19e. The first opening 19a accommodates a first flange portion 9b and has an edge surface with a first facing portion 19c facing towards the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion 9b. The first facing portion 19c and the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion 9b define a gap with an axial length shorter than the axial length of the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion 9b.
