PURPOSE: An RFID authentication apparatus with an authentication function and a method thereof are provided to use authentication information and an authentication key, thereby checking whether a product is real. CONSTITUTION: A confirmation data generating unit(305) encrypts confirmation data using an output key. The confirmation data generating unit transmits the encrypted confirmation data to an authentication tag. A tag authentication unit(309) receives encrypted confirmation response data corresponding to the encrypted confirmation data from the authentication tag to decrypt. The tag authentication unit compares confirmation data with the decrypted confirmation response data. The tag authentication unit distinguishes whether the authentication tag is real.
