PURPOSE: A motion data setting apparatus for an electric press and a method thereof are provided to input motion data quickly by selecting the mode of operation on a screen and changing the basic setting. CONSTITUTION: A motion data setting apparatus for an electric press comprises a key input unit(33), a display unit(36), a display driver(40), a data storage unit(42), and a control unit(46). The display unit indicates mode motion data in graph and the setting of motion parameter for a selected mode. The data storage unit stores mode parameter data(42a,42b,42c,42d,42e,42f), and includes a motion setting data storage unit(44) temporarily stores detailed parameter setting of motion of the selected mode. The control unit is connected to a controller of the electric press and outputs a motion graph for each mode, and transmits a control command signal to the controller by receiving the changed setting.
