PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which divides a boundary between an object area and a background area at high resolution and high speed. SOLUTION: The imaging device has an image sensor, an image processor which generates image data, an information extraction part which extracts information corresponding to specified information detection areas in an imaging field, a first imaging field dividing part which divides image data into a plurality of medium areas including at least one information detection area and divides the image data into a plurality of large areas that are composed of at least one or more medium areas based on information similarity extracted from information detection areas in different medium areas, an image feature calculator that divides a medium area included in a large area and located at the boundary between large areas, into small areas which are composed of at least one or more pixel data, and calculates image features of the small areas based on the pixel data included in the small areas, and a boundary determination part which determines small areas so as to be included in large areas that include small areas or are in contact with medium areas including small areas based on the image features of the small areas, which are calculated by the image feature calculator.
