The invention relates to a binder comprising crosslinker and branched, partially defunctionalized, acid-functional polyester based on: a. At least one multi-functional component; b. At least one di-functional component that is reactive towards a functional group on the multi-functional component; and c. At least one mono-functional component; wherein the polyester has a glass transition temperature of 40° C. or greater.
