Peptide-polysaccharide conjugates may be created by linking at least one peptide to a polysaccharide. The peptide may be a defensin having at least a portion of the amino acid sequence of human-beta-defensin-3. The portion may be the last 10-14 residues of the amino acid sequence. The polysaccharide may be functionalized with at least one R group prior to the linkage to aid in the linkage.
