<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating film by coating windowpane without streaky coating due to an applicator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical sponge trowel is moved upright horizontally for uniformly finishing a coating film after application. Upon solvent-type heat-ray shielding coating using a polymer base material in which fine particles are suspended, elastic sponge having large nerve of the degree of elongation of less than 200% is preferred.
