PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of an event where the battery is wastefully consumed, a remained amount of battery runs short and relief operation cannot be performed when relief operation by emergency power source is actually required, when any abnormality of power source is generated during manual operation of the elevator and it is switched to an uninterruptible power source and when a worker continues manual operation without recognizing this. SOLUTION: In the control device for the elevator, in generation of abnormality of power source such as power failure, the power source is switched from a commercial power source to the uninterruptible power source to feed electric power and operation of the elevator is continued. When abnormality of the power source is generated in manual operation, an informing means for continuing generation of a warning sound during the period when the electric power is fed from the uninterruptible power source is provided.
