OPTICAL MEMBER AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member making moire (interference fringe) inconspicuous without significantly degrading image quality.

SOLUTION: The optical member 30 is a sheet-like member which is disposed on an observer side of a display section 20 and apart a space from the display section and transmits video light from the display section to the observer side. The optical member includes: an optical function layer 50 having a plurality of light transmission sections 52 formed so as to transmit light, and a plurality of light absorption sections 54 formed so as to absorb light and disposed to line up alternately with the light transmission sections along the sheet plane of the optical member; and an optical control layer having a rugged surface forming the display section-side surface of the optical member.
