<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely direct the front surface of a toilet cover toward a user side without bringing the toilet cover into contact with a toilet seat or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This mechanism includes: the toilet cover 3; a first hinge member 4 disposed at a predetermined position on the rear surface of the toilet cover 3; a second hinge member 13 disposed in rear part of the toilet seat or a toilet stool; an arm 5 the end of which is turnably supported by the first hinge member 4 and the terminal end of which is turnably supported by the second hinge member 13; and a timing mechanism 25 which synchronizes turning operation between the arm 5 and the first hinge member 4 with that between the arm 5 and the second hinge member 13 such that the front surface of the toilet cover 3 inclines toward the front side of the toilet seat or the toilet stool with upward turning of the end of the arm 5.
