<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device efficiently cooling exhaust gas made to flow into an HC adsorbent and adsorbing HC by the HC adsorbent until the temperature of a three-way catalyst or a NOx conversion catalyst is raised to an HC light-off temperature even in the operating state of an internal combustion engine in acceleration, in the exhaust emission control device using an oxidation catalyst or the three-way catalyst or the NOx conversion catalyst and the HC adsorbent. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 1 is provided with a first exhaust gas treatment member 3 supporting the oxidation catalyst or the three-way catalyst or a NOx storage reduction catalyst purifying exhaust gas in the internal combustion engine, and a second exhaust gas treatment member 4 arranged in the power part of the first exhaust gas treatment member 3 and having an HC storage function. A radiation section 5 cooling a temperature of exhaust gas made to flow into the second exhaust gas treatment member 4 is provided between the first exhaust gas treatment member 3 and the second exhaust gas treatment member 4, a side upstream of the radiation section 5 is formed to have a heat insulating structure, and a side farther upstream thereof is formed to have a heat retention structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
