PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbubble precursor composition capable of giving a microbubble-containing liquid containing long-life microbubbles in a high concentration. SOLUTION: There is provided a microbubble precursor composition composed of particles containing voids in their insides and a gas within the voids, wherein the particles contain a surfactant and a water-soluble solid, the average particle diameter (volume median diameter) of the particles is 0.05-200μm, and the sphericity (major diameter/minor diameter ratio) of the particles is 1.0-1.2.
