<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of outputting an excellent image even when image processing to adjust image quality is performed separately in different apparatuses. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When image data stored in a file in another image forming apparatus is input from a transmission/reception part 50 etc., a related information detection part 64 of the image forming apparatus detects whether information about a type name of an image forming apparatus to which the image data is output etc. is attached, with which the content of the image processing performed on the image data in the previous stage can be identified. Then, an image conversion processing selection part 65 selects image conversion processing to adapt to the image processing in the post stage based on the related information attached and a previous stage image processing part 40 performs the selected conversion image processing, and the image data is stored in a hard disc 51.
