PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device capable of preventing a circuit from generating heat even when an external terminal is opened or connected to an ground voltage Vss, thereby preventing a trouble of a load circuit that is the destination of current supply from occurring. SOLUTION: In the semiconductor device, in case where connection between an external terminal T1 and a resistance R1 is shut down, connection between the resistance R1 and the ground voltage Vss is shut down, or the external terminal T1 is shorted to the ground voltage Vss, a terminal voltage detection circuit 3 is configured to output a low level signal to cause a PMOS transistor M11 to be turned on so that an oscillation circuit 4 stops oscillation and outputs a high level signal from its output terminal.
