<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the clogging of a nozzle by the sticking and deposition of non-metallic inclusions, and also, to continuously cast a slab of high quality in which a bubble defect is reduced with stabilization. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a molten steel in a tundish is poured into a mold, the flow rate of the gas to be blown from the gas blowing part of a molten steel pouring means is controlled in accordance with the flow velocity of the molten steel in the gas blowing part. Preferably, the flow velocity of the molten steel in the gas blowing part is controlled to 50 to 250 m/min, and also, an inert gas in a flow rate L satisfying 0.04×V≤L≤0.2×V (L: the flow rate of the gas to be blown and V: the flow rate of the molten steel at the gas blowing part) is blown from the gas blowing part. By controlling the flow rate of the gas to be blown in accordance with the flow velocity of the molten steel in the gas blowing part, the generation of fine bubbles easy to be made into a bubble defect is suppressed, and, while suppressing nozzle clogging, the generation of a bubble defect can be prevented.
