An elevator system allocates an appropriate elevator car for a landing call by considering a variation in maximum speed or acceleration, the variation corresponding to the result of prediction of a load or the distance of movement of an elevator car produced in response to a landing call. The elevator system has a group management control device (20), destination floor registration means (11) that, at the time of call registration, registers a destination floor corresponding to the call into a call registration device (10), and allocation control means (21) that allocates an appropriate car for a request for destination call registration from the call registration device (10). The allocation control means (21) includes estimated time calculation means (22) that calculates a variation in the distance of movement of each car after a call is allocated based on a destination floor and also calculates estimated time of arrival of each car at each floor by using the speed or acceleration corresponding to the calculated value of the variation in the distance of movement of each car.
