HYBRID MULTISAMPLE/SUPERSAMPLE ANTIALIASING

PURPOSE: A hybrid multi sample/super sample anti-aliasing device is provided to improve shading performance or image quality by adjusting a pixel shading rate to be suitable for rendered current geometry. CONSTITUTION: A hybrid anti-alias control unit(500) receives graphic primitives. The hybrid anti-alias control unit determines the number of supers-sample clusters used for anti-aliasing each pixel crossing the graphic primitives. The hybrid anti-alias control unit determines the number of multi-samples used for processing the graphic primitives for the super-sample clusters. A fragment processing unit(460) shades the graphic primitives by using plural paths.
