摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a black level at high accuracy by removing each signal whose signal level does not become the black level due to defective pixels and defective transfer routes and by conducting clamping. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a CCD solid-state image pick-up device provided with an effective pixel area wherein a plurality of pixels are arranged like a two-dimensional array and an optical black section; a CDS circuit for correlation double-sampling processing of the output signal of the solid-state pick-up device; a clamp circuit to clamp a signal from the optical black section output from the CSD circuit by a clamp pulse OBCP for detecting the black level; a pulse generating section for outputting a clamp pulse to the clamp circuit; an A/D conversion circuit for converting the output signal of the clamp circuit to a digital signal; a signal processing section for digitally processing the output signal of the solid-state pick-up device output from the A/D conversion circuit; and a control section which causes the pulse generating section to create and output a clamp pulse OBCP from which a pulse portion A corresponding to the fault is removed when the signal processing section detects a fault K+1 of the optical black section through digital processing.
