<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically classify a file without disturbing operation of a user or making the user make any mistake. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This file management system 1 includes: a number of file count part 103 for counting the number of files stored in a first directory for every attribute; a file emphasis display processing part 104 for letting a user know the existence of object files as files having attributes whose counted number exceeds a first threshold; and an arrangement processing execution processing part 107 for, when such a state that the number of object files exceeds the first threshold continues in a first time after the user has been let to know the existence of the object files by the file emphasis display processing part 104, moving each object file from the first directory to the second directory.
