<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove a buffing compound (buffing grouts) remaining after buffing the surface of metallic fittings into mirror-finished surface without adversely affecting human body or environment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By using a high-frequency power source device for plasma generation, argon gas is dissociated into argon plus ion (Ar<SP>+</SP>) and electron. Then, the surface of the metallic fittings after buffing is irradiated with the argon plus ion (Ar<SP>+</SP>) accelerated by applying a high voltage to remove the buffing compound (buffing grouts) made of silicon or the like.
