摘要 PURPOSE: A method for estimating thickness of a fluid film on a roller rotating at high-speed partially submerged in liquid is provided to improve a printing work using a roller, and to increase the production speed when a coating work. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating thickness of a fluid film on a roller rotating at high-speed partially submerged in liquid is as follows: Base information which comprises position angle(&thgr;) of a roller, rotation speed(ω), and viscosity(μ) of liquid is measured(S1). It is checked that the base information is relevant to a condition of high-speed rotation(S2). In case the base information is relevant to the condition, the thickness(T) of a fluid film is calculated by a formula a(S4). The formula a is |T=a+b/(&thgr;/&thgr;r)+c(μ/μr)|. An actual thickness(h) of the fluid film is calculated using the thickness by a formula b(S5). The formula b is T=h(pgsin&thgr;i/μU)^1/2.
