L A molybdated suednimide complex prepared by a process which comprises (a) reacting an alky! or alkeny! succLmrnide of a polyamine of formula (I) wherein R is an about C12 to C30 alkyl or alkenyl group, a and b are independently 2 or 3, and x is 0 to 10, with an eihylenicaUy unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride thereof; and (b) reacting the suceinim?de product of step (a) with an acidic molybdenum compound. 2, The molybdated succu?mide complex of Claim 1, wherein R is about C12 to about C24 alky! or alkenyl group, a and b are each 2, and x is 2 to 5. 3, The molybdaied succinimide complex according to Claims I or 2, wherein the etbyienicaily unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride is an athy?enicaily unsaturated monocarboxyiic acid or anhydride thereof, 4, The molybdated sueeimmide complex according to Claims 1 or 2, wherein the ethylemcally unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride is an ethylepicaliy unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or anhydride thereof
