PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of a lithographic printing plate for obtaining a lithographic printing plate excellent in plate wear and stability in image reproduction, and to provide a processing device used for the method. SOLUTION: The preparation method of a lithographic printing plate includes preparing a lithographic printing plate from a lithographic printing plate material having a photopolymerizable image forming layer on an aluminum support and having an oxygen blocking layer on the photopolymerizable image forming layer, and the method includes an image exposing step of carrying out imagewise exposure, a preheating step of preliminarily heating the plate, a pre-washing step of preliminarily washing the plate, and a developing step of developing the plate, in this order. The temperature difference between a plate face temperature Th of the lithographic printing plate material in the preheating step and a plate face temperature Tw just before the pre-washing step is not less than 55°C.
