The continuous production plant has at least two pairs of cooling rolls (1, 2, 3, 4) each with their own cooling circuit (20, 21). One of these maintains its rolls at above room temperature and the other maintains its rolls at or below room temperature. The latter has a thermal compressor in the form of an adsorption cooling machine (23). A third cooling circuit (24) cools the condenser (8) of the second cooling circuit.
