<p>A method for forming a watertight seal in joints of variable width, esp. expansion joints between concrete components, uses a filler material to reduce the depth of the joint topped by a sealing material bonding to the concrete sides and resting upon the filler material. After the filler material has been introduced, a bridging profile is introduced into the joint; this bridging piece comprises a central portion which bridges the joint and is flexible and end portions which a but against the concrete sides; these end portions define, together with the concrete sides, spaces of a defined magnitude, into which the sealing material is inserted. Specif., the bridging component comprises a sealing strip of gently curved, U-shaped, inverted U or circular cross-section; the flexible portion is of natural or synthetic rubber, plastics, age-resistant cellular rubber or cellular-plastics.</p> |
