Metallurgical melting apparatus comprises a refractory ceramic lining through which extends a nozzle arrangement (20) for introducing a fluid into a molten metal. The nozzle arrangement comprises a tubular refractory ceramic casing (26), an outer tube (34) coaxially arranged in the casing, an inner tube (32) coaxially running in the outer tube, and an axially running channel (38) formed between the inner and outer tubes. The nozzle arrangement moves axially backward and forward and rotates in the lining. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the secondary metallurgical treatment of a molten metal in the metallurgical melting vessel.
