A liquid crystal display device (100A) is equipped with an active matrix substrate (120) having pixel electrodes (122), gate wires (G), and source wires (S), a counter substrate (140) having counter electrodes (142), and a liquid crystal layer (160). The active matrix substrate (120) additionally has a conductive layer (130) provided inside an insulation layer (134) that is between the gate wires (G) and the pixel electrodes (122). The conductive layer (130) has regions (130r) positioned between a first region (122a) and a second region (122b) of the pixel electrodes (122). The conductive layer (130) is electrically connected to the pixel electrodes (122) or the source wires (S).
