Provided is a display device which is intended for use in vehicles and permits the awareness and attention of vehicle occupants to be heightened when particular vehicle information, for example urgent or high-priority vehicle information, is displayed. A display device (1) which is intended for use in vehicles and which is equipped with an image display device (10) and a control means (20) which causes vehicle information to be displayed as images on said image display device (10), wherein when the control means (20) changes over from a first display form, in which first and second display images (GR1, 2) are displayed, into a second display form in which first, second and third display images (GR1-GR3) are displayed, said control means (20) causes the third display images (GR3) to be displayed between the first and second display images after the first and second display images (GR1, 2) have been moved in a direction which dissociates them, or while the display images (GR1, 2) are moved in the same direction.
