The invention relates to a method for identifying the load condition of a fluid-delivering, electric motor driven pump of a domestic appliance. The invention is characterized in that the pump is driven by a permanent magnet electric motor which is designed as a synchronous motor, a torque-producing current component iq being used to determine at least one load condition of the pump.
