PURPOSE: A crucible holding member and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase intensity of a hollow mesh body by overlapping both sides of the hollow mesh body. CONSTITUTION: A crucible holding member(100) includes a hollow mesh body(13) and a matrix. The hollow mesh body is formed by weaving a first strand and a second strand. The first strand is arranged into a first direction about an axial line(L) of the hollow mesh body. The second strand is arranged into a second direction about the axial line of the hollow mesh body. The first strand and the second strand are made of a plurality of carbon fibers. Both sides of the hollow mesh body are overlapped in order to form a dual opening part. The matrix is filled to a gap between the carbon fibers of the hollow mesh body.
