A method for diagnosing the state of the bronchial mucosa in the young children with recurrent bronchitis at the period of remission provides for the low invasive sampling of the sputum followed by morphocytochemistry with several staining techniques used in succession. The step I provides for Pappenheim staining. The step II provides for NBT and LCP tests. The step III provides for amido black staining. When the ciliate to goblet cell ratio decreases (from 4:1 to 2:1), the integrity of the ciliate cell membranes is impaired, the secretion stage in goblet cells predominates, more than 70% of cells are dystrophically altered, leukocyte count is 15-20 per field of view, macrophage count is 7-8 per field of view, bacteria are detected, the inflammatory response in the bronchial mucosa is diagnosed (endobronchitis). The predominance of macrophages, neutrophils at the stage of cytokinesis, the presence of the purulent bodies with decreased parameters in NBT and LCP tests (3% and 30%, respectively) are the features indicating the weakness of phagocytosis and the exhaustion of the defense mechanisms in the bronchi. |
