PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of checking the result of synthesis of object image data and predetermined image data and checking the object image data stored in a memory within a short time. SOLUTION: Predetermined image data and object image data are stored separately in a non-volatile memory. When the object image data stored in the non-volatile memory are displayed in a standard reproduction mode, regardless of whether predetermined image data is set on the memory, the object image data is displayed on an LCD 26 with a particular magnification (a first magnification) determined by the image size of the object image data. At the same time, when synthesized image data is displayed in a print preview mode, magnification is modified so that the object image data can be displayed on the LCD 26 with a smaller magnification, thereby displaying the whole image on one screen of the display.
