<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge having advanced durability by surely preventing tape abnormalities, such as jamming and a tape flaw during tape loading due to electrostatic charge and in addition, improving the structural strength of a protective cover. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A pocket 6 for tape loading and a protective cover 7 for protecting a tape 2 that traverses the front of the pocket 6 are provided on the front of a body case 1. A discharge recessed part 23 is formed on a lower end face of a front wall 12 of the protective cover 7 facing the tape 2, and a discharge terminal 22 is arranged inside the discharge recessed part 23. The discharge terminal 22 is integrally provided with a base 24 to be inserted into the front wall 12, and a discharge needle 25, that is pointed toward an opening face of the discharge recessed part.
