<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveform display device capable of achieving an excellent residual light characteristic even if a small memory capacity, and displaying waveform information having a small generation frequency without losing it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The waveform display device includes a display device for displaying a display image at a prescribed frame period; a display image memory for storing one display image; a trigger waveform taking part for taking an input signal as a trigger waveform; a waveform memory for storing trigger waveforms as many as the taken number in the newest frame period; a raster image conversion part for converting each trigger waveform into a raster image; a brightness image generation part for synthesizing one image by adding each pixel value of respective raster images, and generating a brightness image by multiplying it by a brightness coefficient; and a display image generation part for generating a display image by performing weighting addition of the brightness image to a display image in a preceding frame period to output the image to the display device, and updating a storage content of the display image memory by the generated display image.
