<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve welding quality and to reduce welding cost by making a gap of a square narrow groove smaller and thereby making narrow groove welding possible in arc welding. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A wire guide 17 is installed in a travelling truck 16 on which a torch 5 is held, wherein the wire guide is provided with a guide groove formed of a heat resistant insulation material 21. A filler wire 7 projecting from the torch is guided by the wire guide so as to reach a weld zone through the guide groove. The heat resistant insulation material is movable inside the groove, and the filler wire is guided so that displacement in the groove width direction is restricted inside the groove.
