<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery excellent in discharge characteristics and cycle characteristics in a large current. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode active material includes an active material carrier capable of storing and discharging lithium ion and solid powder for coating at least a part of a surface of the active material carrier.
