PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera, and an imaging control program or imaging control method for improving the photographing performance of the first sheet. SOLUTION: An imaging device 18 has an imaging surface irradiated with incident light having passed through a focusing lens 12. When a shutter button 38s is half pushed, a main CPU 30 executes focusing adjustment according to one focusing method selected from "PF adjustment", "high-speed AF adjustment", and "normal AF adjustment". Whether the shutter button 38s is fully pushed is determined after the half push of the shutter button 38s. When the determination result is positive, the period from the half push of the shutter button 38s to the full push thereof is compared with a threshold TH1. When the determination result is negative, the elapsed period from the half push of the shutter button 38s is compared with a threshold TH2 (TH2<TH1). The main CPU 30 selects the focusing method from the "PF adjustment", "high-speed AF adjustment", and "normal AF adjustment" based on such comparison results.
